Spykidelic is the solo recording moniker of British-Jamaican iconoclast Tony F. Wilson - earlier harmonic disruptor in Echo Park, Zurich, Knives ov Resistance and latterly vocalist for Human Inferno (iDeal215, WV005). False Dread was the maiden Spykidelic album released by Woodford Halse at the close of 2021, which included Little Siberia, named after a colloquial Croydonian term for New Addington where Wilson grew up.
Its follow-up Fortress Addo is entirely conceived as a horror soundtrack to the real-life nightmare of social deprivation, murder, suicide and LSD/Skunk Induced psychosis that has plagued the Greater London estate. Less dismally, Fortress Addo also draws inspiration from local haunted woodlands; fighter jets encircling the estate during the annual Biggin Hill airshow and reggae soundtapes purchased from Croydon Indoor Market.
